Things do finally seem to be happening - as you mentioned in Heidelberg and by VicUrban in Dandenong. Just so you know, there is another group besides the SLF SLIC group called the Melbourne Cohousing Network. Hans Tilstra runs a website at http://home.vicnet.net.au/~cohouse/ and there is currently a cohousing forum happening as part of an architecture course at RMIT. Also, an article on the Heidelberg cohousing development recently appeared in the Sunday Age.
