This stunning residential house was designed by Australian architects Collins and Turner. The duo have an office in Surrey Hills near Sydney and an interesting portfolio of projects, this building in particular. Built in Dover Heights, NSW Australia the house has spectacular views that have been incorporated into the design of the house. An important feature of the design is an element of surprise. This beautifull desing may be a little minimalistic and cold to actually live in but like with anything of such beauty the visual stimulation makes you forget about anything else. These guys work a lot with straight lines but have a way of not only making them look beautifull somehow but also incorporate simple but interesting textures, like with the Dwell house.

Although it is an unlikely topic for me to get into I have decided to open up a section of this blog dedicated to interesting architecture. My recent interest in the topic probably stems from the simple fact that we will soon be looking into buying or building a house. Short lived as this interest may be I think highlighting the most intresting designs and designers is not a bad idea. To kick this off I am going to cover a new house designed by one of the very most intersting Australian architects, Andrew Maynard who coincidentially is based in Melbourne. This new design from his office is meant to blend into its environment and utilise the latest ideas in green architecture to naturally make the house cool in summer and warm in winter. What I like the most about it is the integration into its surroundings and the spcaes which are both inside and outside at the same time.
